How Over 56k People Voted For ASUU Not To End Strike

 Yesterday, the Twitter handle usually associated with the Academic Staff Union of Universities put up a poll asking the public’s opinion on whether the 8-month long strike should be called off.


Yesterday, the Twitter handle usually associated with the Academic Staff Union of Universities put up a poll asking the public’s opinion on whether the 8-month long strike should be called off.

The tweet read “what’s your stake (sic)” which was then followed by a poll of two options ‘call off strike’ and ‘don’t call off strike’.

Within 5 yet to first 45 minutes of the post over 20,000 people had already casted their qvotes with about 67% voting for the strike to be called off and the others voted against it.

After the stipulated time for voting, over 144,000 votes were casted, exactly 144,320 and 61% voted for while 39% voted against, the 39% who voted against are estimated at 56,518 and the 61% are estimated at 87,863. See result of poll;
