In furtherance of the lagos state government’s committee to ensure effective and efficient transportation through quality road infrastructure,the falomo bridges will be closed for repair works for six weeks from Sunday,14 march to friday 30th april, 2021.
A statement signed by the state commissioner for transportation, Dr. federic oladeinde, noted that the repairs will run on a 24-hours shifts in phase to enable the contractor complete repairs within the estimated set time and minimise the anticipated inconvenience to road users.
He explained that the first stage of the repairs will cover the victoria island-bound lane of the bridge, which will be closed to traffic, adding that motorist heading towards victoria island will be diverted to the ikoyi bound lanes to create a counter-flow.
The commissioner also Said that while the ikoyi bound lane will be closed down for the second stage of rehabilitation works, in a similar fashion, motorist will be diverted to the other lane, assuring that sufficient signage would be put up to guide motorist, just as traffic management personnel will deployed to help motorist navigate thier journey with ease.
Oladeinde, however, appealed to the good people of the state to cooperate with the government by complying with the directive and traffic advisory to allow contractor to finish the project in record time
