Will Mellor Biography
William “Will” Mellor is an English actor and a former pop singer. He was born on April 3, 1976 in Bredbury, which is located in Stockport, Greater Manchester.

Early Life
Mellor spent his early years in the Stockport district of Bredbury, where he went to Bredbury Green Primary School. Later, he changed schools to Greater Manchester’s Werneth School. Mellor was the youngest of four sisters, Janice, Cheryl, Joanne, and Sarah, who were all older. Joanne is disabled, and Mellor spoke about his sister’s heart surgery in a 2006 blood donation advertisement.
Ben Rowlingson was the character Mellor played in his acting début in 1990’s Children’s Ward, a children’s television program. He was about to accept a contract with the 1993 football team Vauxhall Motors FC after trying out for them and had an argument with their manager Alex Tannin about bootlaces. This influenced his choice to pursue an acting career.

Career
In 1995, Mellor made his acting debut in the Channel 4 soap serial Hollyoaks, where he played the part of James “Jambo” Bolton. He made the decision to depart the show in 1998. Then, not long after, he put out a cover of Leo Sayer’s “When I Need You” as a single, which reached its peak at number 5 on the British singles chart. “No Matter What I Do,” another song he released, reached its highest position on the chart at number 23.
He also made an appearance in the Boyzone song “When the Going Gets Tough” music video, which was made in support of Comic Relief.
Soon after, he appeared in the movie Is Harry on the Boat? as Greg, making his acting comeback. In addition, from 2001 to 2003, he played Jack Vincent in the hospital drama Casualty. He has also played the lead role of Gaz Wilkinson in the BBC sitcom Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps from the year 2001. Additionally, he had a small role in the British soap serial Hollyoaks’ holiday special, when he played the ghost of Jambo (even though Jambo is not dead). In the show Sorted about postal workers, Will also portrays “Barmpot,” DC, and he was In the second season of the murder mystery program Murder Investigation Team, Jed Griffiths appears. He performed the dog’s voice in the 2004 CITV comedy Barking, which starred Georgie.
Mellor won the inaugural season of the BBC’s singing competition Comic Relief does Fame Academy in 2003. Mellor made his television debut in EastEnders on May 20 of that year in the character of salesman Warren Stamp. Will’s performance impressed the EastEnders producers so much that they wanted him to stay on the show for a considerable amount of time. Will, however, turned down the offer because he already had commitments to other things that he had agreed to.
He had a cameo in Merlin, a fantasy program on British television. He appeared prominently in the documentary “The Prisoner,” which was about life behind bars, in October 2008.
In February 2021, it was announced that Mellor would play Harvey Gaskell in the ITV soap drama Coronation Street. The debut of Mellor’s sequences was planned for March of the same year.

Personal Life
Former Coronation Street actress Angela Griffin had had a romantic connection with Mellor. He and the dancer Michelle McSween, who would become his future wife, were both cast in the 1999 theatrical version of the musical Oh, What a Night. They have two children together: Renee, who was born in June 2008, and Jayden Will, a son who was born in Hammersmith and Fulham, London, in 2004. Manchester United is his favorite sports team.
